“Dr. Pollock is the very best. She is goal-oriented, down to earth, and really meets you where you're at each session. She goes out of her way to continue learning new things and is always asking for input on what is or is not working for you. Dr. Pollock doesn't sugar-coat things, tells you what you need to hear (which isn't always what you want to hear), and truly works towards equipping you with the tools you need to feel empowered to make changes in your life. Overall, would rate 10/10 plus brownie points for her animals that sometimes make an appearance :)”

Getting to know Dr. Megan Pollock

Hi! I am Dr. Megan Pollock. I have been working in the mental health field for approximately 17 years, serving a wide range of ages from young children to the elderly. I am a mother, wife, dog mom, avid exerciser, and psychologist. My approach to working with patients is holistic and developmental, grounded in evidence-based treatments. Being a mom and a clinician has taught me the importance of recognizing the developmental stage we are in. The older I get, the faster life seems to go, and I believe we should optimize each day. Be who you want to be today-don't put off living life. In my work with patients, I aim to help them make the most out of life now! I work from a developmental and holistic framework to meet your unique needs, focusing on understanding deeper layers and facilitating concrete changes through evidence-based methods. I have specialized expertise in posttraumatic stress disorder (PTSD), anxiety, insomnia, and schizophrenia (and related disorders). I offer specialty assessments and scientifically based treatment modalities for these conditions. I also work with children ages 5 and up. My approach with kids, tweens, and teens is rooted in a developmental framework, recognizing that each year in our formative years brings important changes. I believe in the power of play, nature, and physical activity, which I incorporate into treatment planning. I primarily use play-based therapy, cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), social-emotional learning, and mindfulness. I have interactive programs that allow me to use play with children remotely. I earned my PhD in Clinical Psychology from Alliant International University, Fresno. I completed a fellowship in Psychosocial Rehabilitation at the University of California, San Diego, Veterans Affairs San Diego Healthcare System. I hold a Master's in Psychology from Antioch University and a Bachelor's degree from California Polytechnic State University.

What should a new client know about working with you?

Do you have worries constantly spinning around in your head? Feeling on-edge? Maybe having some symptoms that don’t make sense to you or feeling a bit lost? If you are looking to better understand yourself and make some concrete improvements in your life, I can help you. I am dedicated to helping others reach their full potential. My approach is to understand the deeper layers yet help with concrete changes through evidenced-based methods. I integrate a holistic approach to incorporate mental, physical, and socio-environmental factors.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

I begin with a thorough initial assessment for us to understand what is going on with you, set treatment goals, and develop plan. From there we’ll plan to meet ongoing if therapy is indicated on regularly basis, varying from a session every one-to-three week depending on your needs.
