Do you have worries constantly spinning around in your head? Feeling on edge? Maybe experiencing symptoms that don’t make sense or feeling a bit lost? Do you keep waking up in the middle of the night or way too early? Perhaps you just feel stuck in life. If you are looking to better understand yourself and make concrete improvements, I can help you. Be who you want to be today—don’t put off living life! I aim to help my patients make the most out of life now and am dedicated to helping others reach their full potential. I have specialized expertise in Posttraumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD), Anxiety, Insomnia, and Schizophrenia. I offer specialty assessments and scientifically based treatment modalities for these conditions. I work from a developmental and holistic framework to meet your unique needs, integrating mental, physical, and socio-environmental factors into therapy. A little about me: I have been working in the mental health field for approximately 17 years and have worked with a variety of ages, from young children to the elderly. I am a mother, wife, dog mom, avid exerciser, and psychologist. My work and being a mom have taught me how important it is to recognize the developmental stage we are at in life. The older I get, the quicker life seems to go, and I believe we should optimize each day. I have extensive experience in psychological and cognitive assessments, including intellectual, memory, medical decision-making capacity, forensic violence risk evaluations, dementia evaluations, and diagnostic assessments. While I do not offer assessment services via GROW, my expertise in psychological assessments informs my understanding of the whole person and key functional areas in life. I also have expertise in emotional support animals. For my postdoctoral research project at the San Diego Veterans Affairs Medical Center, I examined the social and well-being impact of animal exposure and interaction.

What should a new client know about working with you?

I am direct and action-oriented, yet still warm to actively and collaboratively address the things bringing you in to therapy. I begin with a thorough psychosocial and diagnostic assessment with the aim to have a solid treatment plan by the end of session. I generally assign homework and/or activities to practice outside of therapy. About every 5th session, we'll reflect and see what is working and what is not. For some patients, what brings them only takes a few sessions, whereas for others it can be awhile. I meet my patients where they are at in life.

More information on payments and coverage

Payment is due after each session and will be charged with your card on file for any portion of patient responsibility. Receipts will be provided at the time of the charge. This typically takes place 2-4 weeks after the session, once your insurance has had a chance to process the claim. We try our best to verify eligibility, but it is ultimately your responsibility to check coverage and out-of-pocket costs for services. For out-of-network visits, you will be billed at the provider’s self-pay rate, and we can provide an invoice for you to submit to your insurance for potential out-of-network reimbursement based on your plan’s benefits.
