What should a new client know about working with you?

A new client should know that working with me is a collaborative, supportive, and evidence-based experience grounded in compassion and respect. I strive to create a therapeutic environment where clients feel safe exploring difficult thoughts, emotions, and life experiences at their own pace. I specialize in perinatal mental health and in treating trauma, depression, anxiety, and mood-related concerns in both adults and adolescents, and I approach this work with sensitivity to each client’s unique history and strengths. I believe that healing is most effective when there is a strong therapeutic relationship built on trust, openness, and shared commitment. Clients can expect a personalized approach that blends scientifically supported therapies with holistic practices, when appropriate, to support both emotional and physical well-being. Motivation and active engagement are important parts of the process, and I work alongside clients to help them build resilience, insight, and confidence in their ability to navigate life’s challenges.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

My process begins with a comprehensive understanding of each client’s background, current concerns, and goals for therapy. This includes thoughtful conversation as well as the use of evidence-based questionnaires to assess symptoms and their impact on daily functioning. Together, we use this information to identify clear, measurable, and achievable therapy goals that guide our work. I use an integrative treatment approach, drawing from a range of evidence-based modalities to tailor therapy to the client’s specific needs. As therapy progresses, we explore patterns of thought, emotion, and behavior, while developing practical skills to manage symptoms, process trauma, and cope with stress more effectively. When appropriate and desired, I may incorporate yoga-based practices, mindfulness, and meditation to support nervous system regulation and mind–body connection. The goal of therapy is not only symptom relief, but long-term growth and resilience. Successful therapy equips clients with skills they can use independently to manage future stressors, pursue values-based goals, and maintain improved overall well-being and life functioning.
