Dr. Merav Gur Lobl, PhD

Psychologist
315 Madison Ave, Ste 503, New York, NY
I am a NY and CT licensed clinical psychologist, and a FL telehealth provider, a former adjunct professor and supervisor at Columbia University TC and at CUNY graduate center, and currently on the board of the NY Women's Mental Health Consortium. I have extensive experience as a psychotherapist. I was trained at Teachers College, Columbia University, at Columbia University Medical Center (postdoctoral training and an Asst Professor) and at St. Luke's-Roosevelt Hospital Center (now Mt. Sinai). I specialize in treating individuals who suffer from worry and anxiety (panic, social, GAD), depression, low self worth, or are having difficulties in forming healthy attachments and relationships. I also specialize in the treatment of perinatal depression/anxiety and in adjustment to parenting. More generally, I provide psychotherapy to individuals who feel stuck, are dissatisfied with their connections or with their career, and who aspire to lead a more meaningful authentic life. I am trained in several different treatment modalities, including insight oriented psychotherapy (psychodynamic psychotherapy), ACT (Acceptance & Commitment Therapy), CBT (including mindfulness based), and Interpersonal Psychotherapy (IPT). I tailor my approach to each individual's needs and goals, and work collaboratively with each client. Psychotherapy leads to better self-knowledge, and therefore, to making healthier life choices. Often, the process of psychotherapy enables individuals to accomplish more of their life goals, to accept themselves and increase confidence, while reducing uncomfortable symptoms that may interfere in daily living. I believe that successful treatments are based on a warm, supportive and non-judgmental therapeutic environment, in which the client can comfortably explore issues and experience a good connection with the therapist. I am fluent in English and Hebrew.
