About Dr. Michael DaRosa

Dr. Michael J. DaRosa is the founding physician of Uptown Sports Medicine and a board-certified, fellowship-trained sports medicine physician who has been helping patients recover from musculoskeletal injuries since 2008. He specializes in the non-surgical diagnosis and treatment of sports injuries, arthritis, tendon and ligament conditions, fractures, and spine disorders, caring for everyone from competitive athletes to active adults and those simply looking to stay healthy and mobile. Dr. DaRosa combines evidence-based medicine with a personalized approach to care. He believes exceptional care begins with listening, taking time to understand each patient’s goals before developing an individualized treatment plan. His focus is on helping patients recover safely, restore function, and return to the activities that matter most to them while utilizing the most effective non-surgical treatment options available. Since 2015, he has served as Sports Medicine faculty for Saint Joseph Family Medicine Residency Programs, where he has trained family physicians now practicing throughout Colorado, Indiana, and across the country. He has also served as Medical Director for Denver Public Schools Athletics since 2015 and has been a team physician for the Denver Onyx, Colorado Raptors, Indy Eleven, Indy Fuel, the Indianapolis Colts, Purdue University, Indiana University–Purdue University Indianapolis (IUPUI), and numerous high school athletic programs. Originally from Chicago, Dr. DaRosa earned his Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine degree from Des Moines University College of Osteopathic Medicine. He completed his Family Medicine residency at Saint Joseph Family Medicine Residency in Denver and a Sports Medicine Fellowship at Indiana University School of Medicine. Outside of medicine, he enjoys spending time with his wife and two children, coaching youth sports, fly fishing Colorado’s rivers, snowboarding, and playing guitar, pickleball, soccer, and basketball.
