About Dr. Michael Farbowitz
A little bit about Dr. Farbowitz:
Although I practice comprehensive ophthalmology, taking care of patients of all ages and all eye conditions, I have a particular interest in refractive cataract surgery with new technology intraocular lenses, restoring patients' vision while enabling them to see well without glasses. Some of my most satisfying visits are with my post-operative patients, most of whom are ecstatic with their vision.
I have also taken an interest in the diagnosis and treatment of dry eye syndrome, a very common condition that can affect comfort and vision. I'm proud of our recent establishment of a dry eye center of excellence, using the latest technology to help patients deal with their dry eye.
Of all my accomplishments, two stand out above all others. The first is my commitment to treating cataracts in the developing world. Since 2012, I have traveled to Ghana, Ecuador, and Honduras to perform cataract surgery for those who otherwise would not have access to this kind of surgery. These missions have been exhausting, humbling, overwhelming, and extremely rewarding, all at the same time. I plan on continuing to go abroad every few years and continue this work.
I earned my Doctor of Medicine degree from New York University and completed my residency in ophthalmology at Long Island Jewish Medical Center.

Practice couldn’t be better! Dr Farbowitz has an excellent bedside manner - very personable and not in a rush. He listens and answers and doesn’t over-explain - which I appreciate. He was able to improve my eye problems when others couldn’t. He was able to get my pricey meds for free.
The office has plenty of parking and easy to find. The staff is friendly and efficient. I arrived early and my wait was minimal.
I’ve had eye issues for 40 years and have seen doctors in NJ, NYC and Philadelphia. Dr. Farbowitz is amongst the best. All-around, an ideal medical practice. I HIGHLY recommend it.

Booked the appointment and set time, confirmed with the office days in advance with text confirmation received on the day of. When I arrive at the agreed place and time, the office is locked. I called and the operator (who I guess sits in one of the practices other offices) confirmed doctor I booked was not in that day, despite the office having confirmed the appointment multiple times prior.
I don't mind having to reschedule but if the doctor is not going to be in, that should be made clear before the appointment.

Office was so clean and "chic". The staff was super nice, courteous and professional. Love that the office is entirely EMR "Electronic Med Rec". Coming from a medical background myself I tend to notice a lot of details. Dr. Farbowitz was great, had great bedside manners, wait time was minimal. I felt very much at ease, would recommend in a heart beat. great location.
