About Dr. Michael Melander

With a decade of experience in private practice focusing on sports injuries and spine-related complaints, Dr. Melander and his facilities have been honored four times as the best in Boston, MA. Dr. Melander believes that above all else, his responsibility to his patients is to foster a sense of resiliency and independence relative to their pain and injury. He seeks to realize these goals with his patients through a combination of pain education, strength and mobility programming, and hands-on manual therapy. He has treated elite, professional, and Olympic athletes, as well as multiple professional performing artists, countless office professionals, pregnant women, elderly individuals, and youth populations. Dr. Melander earned his Doctor of Chiropractic degree from Palmer College of Chiropractic in Port Orange and holds a bachelor's degree from the University of Vermont. He is an instructor with Active Release Techniques in the United States and Canada and is an avid advocate and coach of the Functional Range Systems mobility-training platform. A resident of the North Shore region of Massachusetts with his wife Kellie and their two children, Dr. Melander enjoys surfing, skiing, exercising, and watching Boston sports when he isn’t working or spending time with his family.
