About Dr. Michael Wolverton
My medical training brought me back to where it all started. A local to the Savannah area, I completed my medical education at the University of South Carolina School of Medicine. I then completed my orthopedic residency at the University of Florida in Jacksonville and the Mayo Clinic in Florida. From there, I attended the Mississippi Sports Medicine and Orthopedic Center surgical fellowship program, one of the largest volume private practice groups in the U.S. During my fellowship, I received extensive training from leaders in the field in anterior total hip replacement, outpatient total joint replacement, partial and total knee replacement, robotic-assisted total joint replacement and revision total hip and knee arthroplasty. In my practice, I treat all injuries of the lower extremities, as well as total hip and knee revision and replacement. Outside of the office, I spend as much time outdoors as possible. Whether it's duck and deer hunting, fishing, boating, watching college football or playing golf, being outside is where I recharge.
