About Dr. Michelle Picon

Michelle Picon, MD MPH, FACOG is a board-certified obstetrician and gynecologist at Georgia Obstetrics and Gynecology in Atlanta and Alpharetta, Georgia. She finds every aspect of her career incredibly fulfilling, from delivering babies to performing surgery and treating a variety of gynecologic conditions. Her goal is to build lasting relationships with patients by offering high-quality, educational, and patient-centered care that honors diversity and empowers her patients to make the best decisions for their health and wellbeing. She is also proud to offer all services in Spanish.
Although she was raised in Rome, Georgia, Dr. Picon is originally from San Juan, Puerto Rico and a native Spanish speaker. She attended Duke University, then moved to Miami, Florida to earn her Medical Degree and Masters of Public Health at the University of Miami. During her time there, she was awarded a Fulbright Scholarship to complete a maternal-child health research project working with adolescent mothers in Cartagena, Colombia. She then completed her residency at Emory University, and practiced in the Atlanta area for a few years before joining Georgia Obstetrics and Gynecology.
Dr. Picon spends her free time with her husband, daughter, and their dog Coconut. She enjoys running, swimming, spending time outdoors, and traveling, especially family trips to Puerto Rico.

My experience there was something I am happy about. Thew news that I received while there was that I was likely miscarrying, which can be hard to hear and deliver. That is why I am writing this, the office staff was friendly and helpful from the beginning and they were direct and gentle. Dr. Picon was a complete professional during the ultrasound and was really good considering the circumstances. My nurse, Rashida, was also sweet and so was the woman who drew my blood from lapcorp, I wish i remembered her name, but after my news I think I was distracted. The front desk woman was also kind and efficient, I would highly recommend this practice and office. Thank you for being friendly professionals when I was going through an unfortunate time. I have a follow-up in a week to ensure all things are normal.

Okay Dr .Picon was very very sweet and well spoken to me about everything she wanted me to understand and know and broke down misunderstanding about any questions or concerns that I did have !?? now the phlebotomist however who did my blood work was rude told me not to touch her fan in a bad manner “don’t touch it ..do not touch my fan don’t touch it” in a condescending tone even though she had it blowing directly on me and not being considerate knowing I’m the patient and talked to me like I was a little child and even my husband who was not near me heard her talking loud to me as such around the corner !! Which instantly irritated him as well because it was uncalled for. All the other staff were very nice and well coordinated and RESPECTFUL most importantly.

She not only provided routine care, but also took her time to answer all of my fertility related questions while addressing my concerns. Dr. Picon was so incredibly attentive, warm, and helpful. She went above and beyond making sure we were on the same page for surgery, and is wonderful in terms of giving patients autonomy over their medical care. She listened to all of my concerns and questions, and I never felt rushed or dismissed. I absolutely see myself going to her for as long as I can.
The whole staff at this office was super warm and welcoming, which has been such a breath of fresh air after having negative experiences with other gynecologists. I would recommend this location to everyone, and I’ve already been recommending Dr. Picon to anyone looking for a gynecologist.
