About Dr. Mitul Patel
I always knew I wanted to do something in medicine that would be challenging while having an impact on helping others who are suffering, all while continuing my personal growth and journey through life.
I enjoy learning and applying new research and technologies to provide effective and efficient care. I love the collaborative, team approach utilized across cardiac electrophysiology, interventional cardiology, advanced heart failure, and cardiac surgery, which allows for better individualized care, as not all patients are the same. I find the field of cardiovascular medicine rewarding because I am able to help patients improve their quality of life while providing appropriate education and guidance.
I take an individualized approach to every patient, recognizing that no two people are alike in their disease processes or external circumstances. I enjoy getting to know my patients personally and meeting family members involved in their care, not just focusing on the medical aspect of our relationship.
I earned my Doctor of Medicine from the Medical University of Lublin, completed my residency in Internal Medicine at Mercy Hospital St. Louis, and pursued a fellowship in Cardiology at Creighton University. I also hold a bachelor’s degree from Ohio Northern University.
Outside of medicine, I enjoy spending time with my wife and our two daughters, traveling and experiencing new places and cultures, cooking, exercising, downhill skiing, and swimming.
The best medicines are often those I cannot prescribe—healthy lifestyle choices. Regular exercise, avoidance of tobacco products, minimal alcohol consumption, a healthy balanced diet, and regular health maintenance examinations are essential to well-being.
