What should a new client know about working with you?

After the initial consultation, my goal is to continue to get to know you, including your goals, what areas of your life are presenting challenges, and where you might need a little extra support. I am a firm believer that the relationship between client and therapist must come first. By creating a welcoming, nonjudgmental, and validating space, we can begin working collaboratively to create your goals and work on achieving them. Once goals are established, we can begin to examine your negative thoughts, behaviors, and previous life events that may be affecting you in the present moment. We then work on skills to help you not only reduce your negative emotions and behaviors but also work toward a more fulfilling life.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

By creating a nonjudgmental and validating space, it is my hope that you feel safe to express your worries and other negative emotions. I believe in a collaborative approach where we work together to make sure you feel supported, heard, and empowered to begin making changes in your life. I also believe that every person is unique, and that means your mental health journey will be unique as well.
