I waited 50 minutes after my appointment to finally be seen. Despite having prior swab and test result days prior from another facility, I was told that the results are inaccurate and he would treat me for something I tested negative for. There was no apology or acknowledgement for making me wait almost an hour. He saw me for about 5 minutes and it felt like most of my symptoms and what I said was dismissed

I actually came across Dr. Kobren by accident. After booking two other appointments on Zocdoc with female OBs that all ended up canceling on me, I expanded my search. I was a little nervous at first but everyone at the office made an effort to make us feel comfortable. The staff was polite and friendly and Dr. Kobren patiently sat with us and addressed all of our concerns and answered all of our questions. We have only gone for one visit so far, but we will likely stick with Dr. Kobren unless something extremely unexpected happens.

This was the worst gyno checkup of my life! I went in for an annual exam and wanted to be screened for STDs, as I usually do to make sure me and my partners are safe. The actual exam lasted maybe two minutes and from that Dr. Kobren decided that I had no STDs and didn’t need blood work. I was somewhat confused because a lot of STDs may never show signs of being contracted, like HIV for instance. He then agrees to write me a script for HIV blood testing but nothing else, so when I went to the front desk I had to tell the nurse to write a script out for more general testing in front of everyone in the lobby. He then called me back into his office and brought another nurse to chastise me together about whether I knew what a pap was and how he’s a professional so despite not being able to visually detect an STD, he’s been doing this for so long that he’s sure I don’t have one. After five minutes of arguing, I finally get them to write a script and am then threatened with the cost that he believes my insurance won’t cover.
Moving on to when I begin to look for a lab: I call my insurance only to be told that they only take Quest lab, not Sunrise Medical which is where my script was written to; therefore, I had to call the office from the parking lot to get a new script but I am told only one person can write it out and they can’t do it for another hour despite the fact that I’m in the parking lot and have no where to go because I live an hour away. I decided there was no use arguing because they may be to busy and sat in the parking lot but fortunately got a call a half hour later. I get my script and the nurse then apologizes and tells me she knew my insurance only took Quest and that was her mistake. This news was frustrating to me but I was grateful for her apology. I then go to the lab but when I get called into the office I looked at the script and saw one of the tests I specifically asked for was left off. I then had to call the office AGAIN to get it faxed over which took a second call after they didn’t send it the first time where I was hung up on. The whole ordeal was ridiculous, took about five hours and made me very uncomfortable. I spent the entire day being yanked around just because they didn’t want to give me the proper STD testing that I ASKED FOR! I’m never going back.

This was my first appointment. All the staff was great. Dr Kobren was quick, thorough, friendly, and gave me a sonogram right away when he found something abnormal which wasn't even my reason for being there. Glad he caught it and didn't have to refer me to go somewhere else for a sonogram or make me wait for one. There was no time for me to even start to worry. I'm very satisfied with my visit with Dr Kobren
