Dr. Ben-Ami is a client-centered, solution-focused, integrative therapist. Her treatment approach draws largely from Dialectal Behavior Therapy, insight oriented psychotherapies, and mindfulness and cognitive and behavioral based models.
In the room, Dr. Ben-Ami seeks to create a warm, collaborative, and supportive environment, and is an active participant in sessions. Dr. Ben-Ami integrates opposing therapeutic strategies, including balancing acceptance of current circumstances while also working towards change, and gently challenging clients, while also providing validation and support. Dr. Ben-Ami works with clients to gain insight into patterns of thinking and behavior in the service of enhancing self awareness and developing more effective and creative solutions to life’s challenges.
