Getting to know Dr. Nathan Capalbo

Dr. Capalbo’s first goal upon meeting new clients is to build a strong therapeutic relationship by creating a safe, non-judgmental environment. He has experience working with school-age children, young adults, and adults. His specialty focuses on anxiety, depression, adjustment, identity development, and a wide variety of challenges faced by college students. Additionally, he has worked with children experiencing bullying, parental separation, and abuse. Dr. Capalbo has concentrated much of his research on Autism and is interested in continuing his work with children and adults on the Autism Spectrum. He has provided care in various settings, including outpatient practices, residential facilities, schools, college counseling centers, and in-home environments. Dr. Capalbo believes in a client-centered approach to treatment and uses a variety of modalities, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and mindfulness practices. He tailors his approach to each client’s unique background, needs, and requests.
