What makes you passionate about being a healthcare provider?
Practicing family medicine allows me to connect with people and guide them to finding solutions.
In your opinion, what should be the role of a primary care provider for a patient, taking into account both physical health and behavioral health needs?
A primary care physician should attempt to take into account the whole person, including their physical, behavioral, and even spiritual well-being when warranted, in order to formulate a successful collaborative plan with the patient.
Tell us a little bit about yourself. What do you like to do in your spare time?
I enjoy trying new physical activities and sports, exploring, reading, and spending time with family and friends.
I earned my Doctor of Medicine degree from Saint James School of Medicine in St. Vincent and the Grenadines.

I was nervous at first to start seeing a PCP virtually and I had my doubts that it would feel as thorough as seeing my PCP in person. Dr. Syed and his team immediately addressed those with me and were compassionate and understanding. Dr. Syed should be giving TED Talks on how to practice impeccable and efficacious bedside manner, particularly within a telehealth format. He’s a good listener but he told me he would contact me the next day regarding my medication and did not. He didn’t answer me via chat and I have no other way to get ahold of him. This is my first time using Zocdoc so I’m a little confused and little nervous because I think he has my medical records as well but will not return any of my chats.

He demonstrated that he really cares about his patients and is willing to go above and beyond to help them. He has the patient's back and isn't one of those doctors that tells patients to pound sand when they require a solution that isn't "one-size-fits-all". It's been a while since I have encountered a doctor like this, he's a throwback to the days when doctors took the patient's health and wellbeing personally. He's not the kind of doctor that thinks you're an idiot because you're not a doctor. He's not a pushover that just does whatever the patient asks; he follows the rules. But he's willing to be creative and find "outside the box" solutions that other doctors might be too lazy or too risk-averse to consider. Super solid doctor.
