Getting to know Dr. Neel Patel
Neel Patel, MD, is a Board Certified Addiction Psychiatrist with extensive training in adult mental health care, substance use disorder, and dual diagnosis. At Comprehensive Addiction and Recovery Epicenter, Dr. Patel will provide a variety of outpatient treatment services including general psychiatric evaluations, substance use disorder evaluations, and medication assisted treatment. Based on the results of the initial evaluation, each patient will receive an individualized treatment plan tailored to their specific needs. Through years of experience, Dr. Patel has realized that no single treatment is appropriate or effective for everyone. “My goal is to help achieve a better quality of life for my patients by optimizing and utilizing evidence based approaches to treat both mental health illnesses and substance abuse disorders.”
Dr. Patel received his bachelor's degree at the University of South Florida in Tampa, FL. He has always been passionate about medicine and pursued his medical degree at Ross University. Upon completion of medical school, he completed an adult psychiatry residency at the University of Alabama at Birmingham. Dr. Patel was always intrigued about the intricacy and complexity of addiction during his residency and followed his dream to pursue an addiction psychiatry fellowship back at his alma mater at the University of South Florida.
Dr. Patel is a member of the APA, ASAM, AAAP, and AMA. He attends conferences on a yearly basis to further his knowledge in the field of mental health and substance use disorders in order to provide the best quality of care for his patients.
Outside of work, Dr. Patel enjoys spending time with his family and friends. He enjoys spending time outdoors and is known to be a foodie.

First impression is a very good one. A very positive one. As soon as I booked through ZocDoc, I phoned the office as instructed in their profile to assure that the app came through. The front desk is an actual live person with a brain, empathy, compassion. She got me through the intake paperwork, covered the insurance. Outstanding! Most professional. So happy I found this office! Was contacted right away about my appointment and was impressed with the genuine kindness Solia (sorry if I misspelled!) showed me and also with her professionalism. Dr. Patel was also very kind, warm, and easy to talk to. He is very professional, yet down to earth. He answered all my questions and I felt like he understood where I was coming from and asked for clarification when my stories got a little confusing. I was anxious to find a new doctor after seeing the same MD for 10+ years. Dr. Patel was able to get me an appointment almost immediately to renew my medications and he was very thorough in his evaluations. The office staff are super friendly and accommodating as well and eased any concerns I had about switching doctors. I highly recommend Dr. Patel to anyone who is looking for a great psychiatrist!

I had my first appointment at Dr.Patels office with Dr. Maram Yousef. The office was clean and Cat at the front desk was very professional and courteous. Making my appointment was smooth and did not have but a 5 minute wait time. Dr. Yousef is a great listener and approachable, she made me feel very comfortable and at ease discussing concerning matters.
