Dr. Chhean completed her undergraduate studies at California State University, Long Beach where she was a recipient of the President’s Scholars Program scholarship. She earned the scholarship as her high school’s graduating class Valedictorian. She went on to Optometry school at New England College of Optometry in Boston, MA. She is a Therapeutic Optometrist with an Optometric Glaucoma License. She has extensive training and experience treating medical ocular conditions and surgery co-management.
Dr. Chhean was a partner in a private practice in Austin for nine years. She then joined Baylor, Scott and White and worked there for four years. Her family brought her to North Texas. Dr. Chhean joined Texas Eye Surgeons in 2022 and is excited to work alongside Dr. Ali, where she feels she can offer high quality eye care utilizing the newest, most advanced technology to deliver best patient outcomes.
Dr. Chhean realized her passion for the health professions at a young age and feels fortunate to love what she does every day, caring for people’s eyes. She has volunteered to provide eye care in rural areas of Jamaica and the Dominican Republic, where access to health care is very limited.
In her free time, she enjoys sharing life with her husband and two sons, including camping, biking and Disney trips.

She is an excellent ophthalmologist. I have glaucoma as did my parents. Al-
though my eye pressure is excellent, the optic nerve in my right eye looked
suspicious. My dad had several kinds glaucoma and one that was rare. Dr.
Neng has referred to a glaucoma specialist. Hopefully, new drops will address this. The medical equipment is new and state of the art. I highly
recommend Dr. Neng and her staff. They are courteous and extremely
knowledgeable.

The doctor was strange, I went in because I had headaches and I haven't seen an ophthalmologist for a long time. She said well good news is you don't have a brain tumor (where did that come from?). I asked her if I needed glasses she said "yes" but I don't think you want to wear glasses unless you feel like you are going to run over a child. Very Unprofessional.
