About Dr. Neng Chhean

Dr. Chhean completed her undergraduate studies at California State University, Long Beach where she was a recipient of the President’s Scholars Program scholarship. She earned the scholarship as her high school’s graduating class Valedictorian. She went on to Optometry school at New England College of Optometry in Boston, MA. She is a Therapeutic Optometrist with an Optometric Glaucoma License. She has extensive training and experience treating medical ocular conditions and surgery co-management. Dr. Chhean was a partner in a private practice in Austin for many years. She then joined Baylor, Scott and White and worked there for four years. She then relocated to North Texas to be closer to family. Dr. Chhean joined Texas Eye Surgeons in 2022 where she offers high quality eye care utilizing the newest, most advanced technology to deliver the best patient outcomes. Dr. Chhean realized her passion for the health professions at a young age and feels fortunate to love what she does every day, caring for people’s eyes. She has volunteered to provide eye care in rural areas of Jamaica and the Dominican Republic, where access to health care is very limited. In her free time, she enjoys sharing life with her husband and two sons, including camping, biking and Disney trips.
