About Dr. Nha Cao
Dr. Nha Cao completed her undergraduate education and received a bachelor’s degree in Biology with a minor in Health at the University of Houston. Shortly after, she was accepted at Midwestern University’s College of Optometry, where she obtained her Doctor of Optometry Degree. After graduating from Midwestern and wanting to further her education in the field of Optometry, Dr. Cao went on to do her residency at Northwestern State University- Oklahoma College of Optometry as a Cornea and Contact Lens Resident. Here she supervised various specialty eye clinics and provided care for patients with diabetes, glaucoma, low vision, and assisted with minor surgical and laser procedures. Dr. Cao is currently working on obtaining her Fellowship for the American Optometric Association.
After completing her residency in Oklahoma, Dr. Cao decided to come back to the Valley of the Sun where she joined Dr. Wooten's practice here at Ironwood Eye Care and Excel Vision, caring for the Scottsdale community.
Dr. Cao believes in providing exceptional eye care and staying up to date with advancing techniques in the ever-changing eye care field, so she can provide a multitude of treatment options for all her patients. Dr. Cao specializes in hard to fit contact lenses, including Rigid Gas Permeable, Scleral, and Ortho-K for myopia control, but believes that preventive eye care is so important in detecting asymptomatic health complications that the patient may be unaware of and educating patients of how proper eye health can detect and possibly prevent other health issues.

This was by far the best experience I’ve ever had in healthcare… Dr Cao explained everything that was wrong with my vision precisely. She was very patient with me, did not rush and made me feel comfortable. I recommend her and the office 100% The staff was also very welcoming, professional and showed they truly cared. Thorough annual eye exam. But the perfect moment was when Jeff offered to and did exchange my plastic eyeglass nose bridge pads for silicone pads on my OLD glasses (which weren't even purchased there) -- feels so much better! You've earned a lasting Customer.
