Getting to know Dr. Nisha Sheth
I attended Michigan State University for undergraduate studies before earning my Bachelor of Science degree from KMC International Center, Manipal University. I obtained an MD from American University of Antigua College of Medicine. Following medical school, I completed a residency in Psychiatry at Detroit Wayne County Authority Health, where my training focused on serving medically underserved communities. During residency, I also earned a certificate in Population Health and Health Equity from the University of Michigan School of Public Health. I served as chief resident in my third year of training. I am board certified by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology.
What should a new client know about working with you?
As a psychiatrist, I believe in providing patient-centered, evidence-based, and compassionate care. My goal is to provide a welcoming and supportive environment. I prioritize collaboration and education, helping patients understand their conditions and treatment options, so we can work together to develop effective treatment plans.
What is your typical process for working with clients?
During the first session, my primary goal is to get to know you and understand your unique experiences, concerns, and goals for treatment. We will discuss your personal and medical history, current symptoms, and any previous mental health care you’ve received. This helps me form an understanding of your needs and begin developing a treatment plan.
