Upon relocating to the United States, Dr. Nizar completed a fellowship in retinal imaging research at the prestigious Doheny Eye Institute in Pasadena. He advanced to become a Faculty Member at the UCLA Department of Ophthalmology, this was followed by extensive training in General Surgery at the Albert Einstein College of Medicine in New York City and the Duke University Medical Center in Durham, North Carolina. He then served as an Ophthalmology Resident at the prestigious Duke University Eye Center before joining the Retina Institute of California in Pasadena as a Surgical Retina Fellow, where he is currently training under world-renowned surgeons. Dr. Nizar's research interests include the treatment of age-related macular degeneration (AMD) and advancements in ocular imaging. He has authored numerous peer-reviewed articles in esteemed journals such as Ophthalmology, RETINA, and JAMA. He has also presented his research at international conferences including the American Academy of Ophthalmology, the Association for Research in Vision and Ophthalmology, and the American Society of Retina Specialists.
