About Dr. Okwudili Okpaleke
Dr. Okpaleke graduated with honors from the University of South Florida and earned his Doctor of Medicine from Ross University School of Medicine. Early on, he graduated high school as a pharmacy technician, so becoming a pharmacist seemed like the logical path. However, he discovered that primary care would allow him to influence people on a personal level, use his humor, impact medical care from children to the elderly, and make a large-scale difference. This realization led him to pursue family medicine. His extensive volunteer work at free health fairs also inspired his commitment to primary care and motivated him to create his own nonprofit organization, providing free health fairs and services such as talks at a local domestic violence shelter.
Outside of medicine, Dr. Okpaleke has some interesting hobbies. As a poet, he has written hundreds of poems, which led him to write and create music, playing guitar with his sister, friends, or alone. His humor has driven him to create videos, write skits, and even compete in a film festival. This humor is woven into his medical practice, helping to create a comfortable environment for his patients-likely why he received the Patch Adams Award during medical school. His passion for teaching also motivates him to foster a less stressful environment for his coworkers.
Currently, Dr. Okpaleke is completing his residency in Family Medicine at the University of South Florida. He serves on the CME committee, assisting with the hospital's teaching curriculum, and is working on a research project aimed at improving physician efficiency and communication with the EMR and patients.

Dr O and the nurses and front staff are the best. I have treated with him for 3 years and he has always been thorough and because of him cancer was found immediately, I went through chemo and radiation and I am almost 2 years cancer free and his follow during and after couldn't be better. He reminds me of the Drs in the old days who takes the time to talk with you and find the answer he doesn't just shuffle you through. He is the best
