“Dr. O was so kind and knowledgeable about psych meds. She is highly trained in her field and confident. She did not seem rushed, she was soft spoken and had a calming energy. Getting to know Dr. Olaocha Okwuadigbo

The first step towards recovery is to acknowledge the need for help. As Martin Luther King stated, "You do not have to see the whole staircase; just take the first step." Seeking guidance opens the path to receiving it. Patients who come to me have taken that first step. I regard my patients as individuals rather than mere symptoms. My treatment approach encompasses a comprehensive understanding of the person and the totality of their health. No two patients are alike; thus, I rely on evidence-based practices to create individualized treatment plans with medication management and psychotherapy. My primary objective is to alleviate the psychiatric burden on my patients and their families, with the ultimate goal of remission or significant symptom reduction. I earned my Doctor of Medicine from Saint James School of Medicine Anguilla, completed my residency in Psychiatry at Community Health of South Florida, and pursued a fellowship in Geriatric Psychiatry at Prisma Health.

What should a new client know about working with you?

Individualized care to alleviate your mental health burden, utilizing evidence-based treatment. Healing is a journey and usually easier together. By building a therapeutic alliance with my patients on their initial visit, I hope to work together with them on the long journey of mental wellness.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

A comprehensive initial evaluation, an indept medication management follow up together with supportive therapy intervention.
