About Dr. Omar Shaikh

Philosophy of care My passion lies in a holistic, patient-centered approach to medical care. I am a strong proponent of improving patient education so you can make the best choices for your own circumstances. I believe it is the duty of physicians to provide patients with the tools they need to take charge of their own health care. Why I entered medicine I entered medicine because I love people. As a physician, I have the honor of hearing the personal stories of my patients and the responsibility to make sure those stories continue for years to come. Education and training I earned my Doctor of Medicine from St. George's University School of Medicine and completed my residency in Internal Medicine at Atlantic Health System, Morristown Medical Center. I hold a bachelor's degree from Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey. Community involvement My most significant community experience was volunteering at my local emergency department during college. That was when I realized my passion for medicine stemmed more from my love of people than my love of medical science itself. Personal interests I enjoy educating patients, reading, and video games.
