About Dr. Paul Enker

Dr. Enker earned his Doctor of Medicine from the University of Ottawa Faculty of Medicine. He completed residency training in General Surgery and Orthopedic Surgery at McGill University. He then pursued fellowship training in adult reconstruction at Sunnybrook Medical Center-University of Toronto and in upper extremity surgery at Thomas Jefferson University Hospital in Philadelphia. He has held positions as clinical assistant professor at the Mount Sinai School of Medicine, chief of the division of orthopedic surgery and co-director of the total joint program at Northwell-Glen Cove Hospital, and chief of the department of orthopedic surgery and director of the total joint replacement program at Queens Long Island Medical Group. Dr. Enker has lectured extensively both nationally and internationally. He has published in medical journals and orthopedic surgery textbooks. His practice specializes in total hip and total knee replacement for arthritis of the hip and knee that is unresponsive to conservative medical management. Nine years ago, in pursuit of superior surgical outcomes, Dr. Enker pioneered the introduction of anterior total hip replacement on Long Island.

Dr. Enker’s bed side manner is amazing. He’s honest and listens and works with the patient’s situation. He doesn’t rush to surgery and tells it like it is. He doesn’t want you to be in pain. I knew my left hip was bad because I had my right hip replaced by him 4 years prior. I explained my current home situation with taking care of my mom and surgery is not feasible at this time so I asked for PT and he gave me a script. I go back in two months but I already know another hip replacement is in order. I highly highly recommend Dr. Enker. Besides his bedside manner he’s a really funny guy! He talks with you and doesn’t rush you and explains the options available
