About Dr. Paul Hakim
Dr. Hakim is a graduate of Wayne State University School of Medicine and completed his residency training at Providence Hospital. As a board certified obstetrician and gynecologist, he provides a complete spectrum of health care services to meet the unique needs of women.
His special areas of interest include the evaluation and management of fibroids, bleeding irregularities, and pelvic pain. Other areas of focus include the prevention and screening for common diseases such as heart disease, osteoporosis and cancer. By working in partnership with his patients, he provides a framework for a healthy and balanced lifestyle.
Dr. Hakim provides a wide range of surgical services with an emphasis on laparoscopic and minimally invasive surgery. Surgeries such as robot-assisted hysterectomy and laser myomectomy, and procedures for incontinence and prolapse can be performed as outpatient or short stays where traditionally a lengthy hospital stay was required. Smaller incisions and shorter hospitalizations translate into shorter and less painful recovery periods for his patients.

I would never go again. I am a sexual assault victim and was very nervous going to a gyn. I gathered all my courage to go, and when I mentioned it the Dr. barely seemed concerned and had no sympathy when I needed a moment to collect myself after becoming overwhelmed. His assistant openly rolled her eyes at me when I was upset and was very rude. Never again will I go to see this "doctor."

Dr. Hakim was so friendly and interested in me. This was my first visit after being recommended to him from my former gynocologist who recently retired.
