About Dr. Pawan Rastogi

Pawan Rastogi, MD, is a gastroenterologist at NewYork-Presbyterian Medical Group Hudson Valley and an assistant professor of medicine at Columbia University Medical Center. During his tenure at Georgetown, Dr. Rastogi received the Donald Knowlan Award for his leadership and high level of clinical competency and was named chief gastroenterology fellow. Dr. Rastogi then came to Montefiore Medical Center, where he furthered his training and completed a second fellowship in advanced endoscopy and interventional gastroenterology. Dr. Rastogi specializes in performing endoscopic ultrasound, endoscopic retrograde cholangiopancreatography, upper endoscopy, and colonoscopy. He treats a variety of gastrointestinal diseases and specializes in pancreatic and biliary endoscopic interventions.

Although I was able to get an appointment with Dr. Rostogi quickly and schedule a colonoscopy, I had to call back to ask if he could add on an endoscopy as well. This doctor had no bedside manners. He thinks he is so professional, yet he lacks in wisdom and is far from friendly or concerned at all about his patients. I felt treated as if I was crazy and clueless about my own body. Like he knew better. He treated me like I was just another number. Why become a doctor if you don’t care about patients’ health? He did not take the time to get to know my medical history. So he had no idea about my stomach issues! The doctor will give you a two sec talk as you immediately come out of your procedure you won’t even remember what he says because you are still groggy. Then he may call you back after you call two times if he’s not busy with other patients to go over your results. So if you are worried that you may possibly have colon cancer DO NOT go to Dr. Rostogi because he could care less!!!
