She took thorough time reviewing my medical & family history and listened to all of my concerns. I never felt rushed during the appointment. She recommended a number of follow up actions for me, including referrals for a new PCP and referrals for fertility-related care. These topics are sensitive and stressful to discuss, and she made me feel at ease and never made me feel judged. I would highly recommend her, especially for anyone who struggles with feeling uncomfortable, judged, or dismissed by doctors. The medical technician / nurse who assisted with the appointment was also amazing. She cracked jokes to make me laugh. I felt truly cared for the entire appointment.”

About Dr. Payal Chowdhary
Dr. Payal Chowdhary enjoys providing the full spectrum of care to her patients, ranging from preconception counseling and contraceptive management to labor and delivery and postmenopausal care. Her interests include routine prenatal and gynecologic care, family planning, in office procedures such as insertion and removal of contraceptive devices, and ambulatory surgical procedures including hysteroscopy and laparoscopy.
Dr. Chowdhary received her undergraduate degree from the University of Chicago, where she graduated with a BA in Biological Sciences with Honors. She received her MD from Cooper Medical School of Rowan University in Camden, NJ before going on to complete her residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology at Mount Sinai West Hospital in Manhattan.
Prior to joining Northwell Health, she was a faculty member and attending physician at Rutgers Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital, where she served as the Director of Peer Review and Performance Improvement. Dr. Chowdhary is passionate about women's health advocacy and is committed to empowering her patients while providing them with comprehensive care.
