About Dr. Philip Bobrow

Dr. Philip Bobrow has been in private practice since 1983. He specializes in adult reconstructive surgery of the hip and knee, as well as sports medicine and general orthopedic surgery. Dr. Bobrow earned his Doctor of Medicine from the State University of New York, Buffalo. He completed his residencies in Surgery and Orthopedic Surgery at Georgetown University. He has helped pioneer a multidisciplinary approach to joint replacement surgery in the Washington area.
He is one of an exclusive group of surgeons across the country specially trained in the bone-conserving procedures of minimally invasive (MIS) hip and knee surgery as well as partial-knee replacements. These new surgical techniques, coupled with an advanced pain-management protocol, have enabled accelerated recovery with rapid return to work and an active lifestyle. Many patients leave the hospital the next day.
However, Dr. Bobrow’s real expertise is his individual approach to patient care. He believes in customizing each patient’s plan of care to meet their needs. Although many leave the hospital within 24 hours, some with complex medical issues need to stay a few extra days. Occasionally, patients require a rehabilitation unit after discharge. At Sibley Hospital, this is all on the same campus, which is unique to the D.C. area.
In 2014, Dr. Bobrow was chosen as Physician of the Year by the Sibley Hospital Medical Association. He has been listed in every "Top Doctors in the Area" issue of The Washingtonian Magazine since 1993, and in 2008 he was personally profiled in the magazine. Dr. Bobrow has been cited in every "Outstanding Physician Specialist" issue of Check Book Magazine since 1998.

Great visit, accessible office in Chevy Chase, wait time was minimal, radiology in the office. Dr Bobrow was top notch but definitely seemed in a hurry. He was thorough and recommended some new things I had not tried for my issue.
