About Philip Glickman

Helping busy people going through big changes. Turn your tough times into an opportunity for transformation. Painful emotions (and the unhealthy behaviors we engage in to mask those emotions) can impact social, professional, and academic performance, and even affect your health. Nobody said that getting out of this "sunken place" was easy, but I can help you find innovative ways to manage your emotions and function at a higher level. Let me help lead you into the hidden places where that discomfort is coming from so we can fix your issues at their root. I am a bilingual (Spanish/English) licensed clinical psychologist. I use a combination of CBT and an integrative mind-body approach to help you understand the role of emotions in driving psychological and physical symptoms. I use the same approach in my own life to cultivate balance and quality of life. Areas of Focus: Anxiety, ADHD, Depression, Physical symptoms, PTSD, TMS. After receiving my Bachelor’s Degree from University of Maryland in Behavioral Sciences and a Master’s in Forensic Psychology, I got my Doctorate of Clinical Psychology from Hofstra University where I specialized in ADHD in today’s digital age. I have experience working with adults and children with a variety of needs, and patients with chronic pain and related psychological symptoms. I offer 15, 30, and 45 minute sessions and am available for Skype or Phone Sessions Call for a free 15 minute consultation to see if this would be a good fit. All appointments must be confirmed by the office prior to the first session.

I’ve been seeing Dr G for several months now and I already have noticed a lot of positive changes as aresult of the therapy we have been doing. I’ve seen other therapists in the past but none of them have made the same kind of impact as Dr. G. I now have more fulfillment in my relationships with family, at work, and in my ability to treat myself well and make better choices than I did in the past, and a lot of it has to do with the work we have done in therapy. Highly recommended.

Dr. G is very practically minded, speaks in a very down-to-Earth way. It did feel like he was giving me alot of stock advice / putting out generic phrases, which is not to say that they weren't useful, but I wasn't sure if they were really tailored to my situation. He started giving advice right from the first session, which I appreciated for its New York-style efficiency -- getting down to business and talking about actionable steps I could take towards achieving my therapeutic goals. That said, I do think he has a tendency to dominate the conversation, whereas my experience with other therapists has been more that for the first couple of sessions they patiently listen to you and get to know what you're like / what's on your mind, and they usually lead *you* to "discovering" the right approach to thinking about your problems / life, rather than quickly trying to give you tips / exercises. Showing, not telling. Dr. G doesn't give bad advice per se, and he is pretty quick on the uptake when it came to getting verbally caught up on my situation, but I think he could have spent a little more time reading the responses to the questionnaire he sent me before our sessions got underway.

I made an appointment with dr g when I was experiencing anxiety around my work, parents, and an upcoming relocation. Dr G gave me useful techniques I could start using right away and I left feeling hopeful and positive about my outlook.

Dr. Glickman is wonderful. He is very knowledgeable, understanding and provides you with tools/ methods to help overcome whatever trouble it is you’re dealing with. He truly has changed my life, mindset and has taught me how to have a positive outlook on negative situations. I went to see him when my anxiety was at an all time high and since then have learned a lot about myself, others and how to handle situations better. He gives the best advice and is always there to help.

This was one of the single greatest decisions in my life. I’ve never had any mental issues up until the past year, I felt crippled by my anxiety and constant bad thoughts. Dr. Glickman was very understanding and genuine, you knew he was there to help. With his advice I’ve really gotten past so many hurdles I deemed impossible. Great guy!

I think what I appreciate most about Dr. Glickman is his gentle but direct approach. He has not only been incredibly knowledgeable and insightful, but also down to earth and very easy to talk to. He has helped me immensely and I'm not sure I'd be where I am today without him.
