About Dr. Phillip Applegate
A native of Houston, TX, David Applegate, DPM, graduated from Texas A&M University in College Station. He received his Doctor of Podiatric Medicine from the Arizona School of Podiatric Medicine at Midwestern University in Glendale, AZ. There, he co-authored a study on the endoscopic management of intermetatarsal neuromas, which was published in the Open Journal of Orthopedics. He was also active nationally with the American Podiatric Medical Students’ Association, where he served as national president.
Dr. Applegate completed a comprehensive three-year foot and ankle surgical residency with the Surgical Hospital of Oklahoma/Cleveland Clinic Foundation. He trained for a year in Ohio at the Cleveland Clinic, followed by two years at the Surgical Hospital of Oklahoma in Oklahoma City where he received extensive surgical training in all areas of foot and ankle surgery.
Dr. Applegate returned to the Houston area upon residency graduation and moved to the Katy area where he founded Texas Foot and Ankle Specialists. He believes that communication and transparency should be the cornerstone of patient relations, and prides himself on providing every patient with a full array of conservative and surgical treatment options.
Dr. Applegate enjoys life in the Katy area with his wife, Sarah, and two kids, Sam and Emily. In his free time, Dr. Applegate enjoys spending time with his family and running with his golden retriever, Jackson.
