“The doctor is ok, the health system is HORRIBLE. If you are going for a womens annual, note that they do additional testing not covered by the health care law, and you will receive a bill. I had to ask for a breast exam at the annual (?), and this doctor made it clear that her specialty is peri/menopause care, not cancer or endometriosis care. The woman who conducted the sonogram felt that she was so informed about me and my previous medical care - yet being a new patient - to multiple times contradict and negate my statements about my medical history. I gave up arguing with her, and based upon what she said - i have zero confidence in her analysis of the sonogram imagery, and her conduct is not professional-It was attempted medical gaslighting. The Be Well Health company has very dated and dirty conditions, standing in the waiting room only, and it took a week and 11 calls to get past their chatbot to request a script for the doctors recommendation. I have wasted hours of my time. ”

Dr. Poroshat Shekarloo is an Obstetrician–Gynecologist at Be Well Primary Health Care Center in Brooklyn, where she provides comprehensive women’s health care with a special focus on perimenopause and menopause. She earned her medical degree from Rosalind Franklin University of Medicine & Science and completed her OB-GYN residency at North Shore–LIJ Health System (Northwell Health). A passionate advocate for midlife women’s health, Dr. Shekarloo helped launch Brooklyn’s first Comprehensive Menopause Center at Maimonides Medical Center. The wait time is insane. For my “follow up appointment”. I had to wait nearly 2 hours for her to show up for 1 minute and say that everything was fine. Could have been a call or email. The assistants were nice though. The doctor not so much. She felt rushed and like annoyed for some reason.

I had my OB/GYN appointment today and I left feeling very uncomfortable and disrespected. The provider’s communication was not professional her tone and language felt bored and dismissive toward me as a patient.
I also experienced lack of privacy and a disturbing lack of regard for patient dignity. The exam room did not feel properly controlled other people (staff)were able to open/access the area even though I was inside and undressed. I felt anxious and unsafe during the visit.One of the worst experiences I’ve ever had

A horrible experience, she is extremely rude, impatient, and has 0 bed side manners. I saw her for all of 1 min and 20 seconds. As a woman of color I was actively seeking a OB that would make the experience less stressful. I thought I found a safe space with Dr. Sherakaloo as she is another woman of color. No. I was wrong. I was not treated for what I went in for, instead I was given a Pap without my consent and pressured into getting birth control “you need it” that was her exact words. I was upset and crying leaving the office as I was caught off guard by the pap all I requested of her was to drain my Bartholin Cyst. She decided she was not because “it would make it worse” no explanation besides that. I was left in pain and tears. It wasn’t until after I started crying that she started to blame the medical assistant for not telling her the right reason I was there. However I DID! She was looking to pass blame after violating me and having performative remorse after the fact.

I did not have a positive experience. The provider’s communication felt cold and lacked empathy, especially given the sensitive nature of the visit. In addition, the sonogram technician was very rude and handled the exam in a way that felt unnecessarily aggressive and uncomfortable. Patients deserve to feel heard, respected, and cared for, and that was not my experience here. I would not return based on this visit.
