About Dr. Priyanka J. Patel
Dr. Priyanka Patel has been practicing optometry for a few years now. She joined our practice in 2021 and provides primary vision care with a special interest in ocular disease, dry eye, and contact lenses. Dr. Patel completed her undergraduate studies at Pennsylvania State University, earning a bachelor's degree in life sciences. She then earned her Doctor of Optometry degree from Salus University, Pennsylvania College of Optometry, located in Philadelphia. She thoroughly enjoys interacting with her patients and strives to consistently exceed expectations at every level. Outside of work, she enjoys reading, traveling, and shopping. Photography is her latest obsession, though she is yet to capture the perfect shot! Her favorite vacation spot is the Maldives. She played field hockey in high school and grew up in Pennsylvania before recently moving to be closer to her husband's family. Dr. Patel is multilingual, speaking English, Gujarati, and Hindi.

I waited 30 minutes for my appointment to start. After the appointment started, I waited 45 minutes in total for the doctor before I had to leave for another appointment. This office does not respect the time of their patients. We all have lives. If you can’t see me during my scheduled appointment time, it is your responsibility to tell me before dilating my pupils and before I pay the co-pay, which they did refund upon request. Overall, a good clinic and clean, with kind staff, but horrible scheduling.

I booked one doctor and was seen by a different doctor. While I was disappointed in the switch, my negative review is based on my experience with the practice. I was charged a fee upon check out that was for services rendered, not for contacts. None of this was explained clearly. The mix up resulted in not receiving my contacts, and being charged a fee not in-line with my insurance EOB. This is my second negative experience with MD Eye Care charges. I do not recommend this practice if you desire a more one-on-one experience versus feeling like herded cattle being baton passed from one handler to the next.

I thoroughly enjoyed my experience. Most of the staff were incredibly professional and pleasant. There was one staff member that joined us in the room when the doctor was there. It would have been nice for them (the doctor and staff member) to acknowledge why this additional person was there. They didn’t speak to me at all. Otherwise, this was a great experience and I would return.

My initial exam was rushed and less than 5 minutes. I came back to pick up the contacts and the script did not work best for my vision. Dr. Patel said she would not re-check it. She insisted I was seeing 20-20, when my left eye was not clear.
The optical manager David was so kind- he ordered me contacts in a Rx from a few months prior that worked. That way I wouldn't have to come back for 2 more visits.
I went back for a vision check, confirmed by the office 3x. Dr. Patel insisted it was not a vision check appointment and said I would have to come back a 4th time. She finally agreed to check my vision.
My 2 printed prescriptions were different than the one on the contact box. My contact & glasses are the same. I asked for clarification and a new manager came out and yelled at me that "you cannot go into the doctors office asking for tylenol or advil- you take what they give you." The point of a vision check is to pick your exact prescription!

Dr. Patel is remarkably thorough. She asked pertinent questions, and answered my concerns with an ease of understanding. I give her my highest recommendation.
The center itself did not have any of the documents I had submitted on Zocdoc. Consequently, I had to re-enter all of my info into a kiosk. It was a frustrating five minutes, but I was still seen by a tech within minutes afterwards.

Dr Patel is amazing. The office itself is great. The staff is friendly and very clean. It was a bit of a wait to be seen but I totally understand and would rather wait and be treated like a patient vs a number and having rude and unfriendly service. I can’t see myself going anywhere else for my eye care needs!

My appointment was not confirmed but I still went. I also had some issues with my medical provider. Just as I sorted out those issues, someone has canceled. I was very lucky to be offered the space and I was attended to immediately. The receptionist was very professional, understanding, patient and friendly. It was my first visit and I am very impressed and satisfied. Excellent service!

This was the most positive experience I have had in a medical office. I was in pain from having objects in my eye. The staff recognized my discomfort and saw me immediately. Every person I spoke with was kind and compassionate. The doctor was patient and took their time removing the objects from my eye. Nothing felt rushed and everyone made me feel heard. I would go out of my way to see this provider again. Highly recommended!
