She became interested in podiatric medicine and surgery the year after finishing college when she became aware of the sports medicine aspect of the specialty. She grew up playing a lot of soccer and basketball, and hopes to help her patients return to their likes and interests. For medical school, Dr. Abbas attended the California School of Podiatric Medicine where she graduated as Class Valedictorian. She then completed her residency training in forefoot and reconstructive rearfoot surgery at the Kaiser Permanente north bay consortium, serving a wide array of patients in Vallejo, Santa Rosa, San Rafael, and Vacaville, a level 2 Trauma hospital. Dr. Abbas is currently working towards her board certification with the american board of foot and ankle surgery (ABFAS) in forefoot and rearfoot surgery. Dr. Abbas now lives in Stockton with her husband, Amir. They enjoy camping, hiking, playing the violin and traveling as well as indulging in the local food scenes.
