About Dr. Rachel Pollak
Dr. Rachel Pollak is a NYS Licensed optometrist who provides primary eye care for patients of all ages in Inwood, NY.
Dr. Pollak received her doctorate from the prestigious SUNY College of Optometry, where she graduated with honors. She is trained in primary, pediatric, and emergency eye care, as well as regular and specialty contact lenses. She also diagnoses, treats, and manages ocular disease.
Dr. Pollak specializes in pediatric eye care, and specifically, in myopia control (slowing down the progression of near-sightedness). Dr. Pollak will address all aspects of your child’s vision, including its functional impact on learning and academic performance. She is skilled in all methods of myopia control, including eye drops, multifocal contact lenses, and ortho-k lenses.
Dr. Pollak believes everyone should be comfortable wearing contact lenses. She fits spherical, astigmatic, multifocal, and custom contact lenses, and is especially known for her fitting success with patients that have had difficulty in the past with contact lenses. Dr. Pollak treats dry eye symptoms aggressively using both prescription eye drops and punctal plugs, to allow for maximum contact lens comfort.
The office offers the most up-to-date technology to detect diseases in the eye including glaucoma, macular degeneration, and diabetic eye disease.

My first appointment with Dr. Pollack was excellent! I was greeted by Marcus who is just wonderful and so patient. After my appt, Marcus really dedicated time to help me find a pair of glasses suited for me, and I can tell you, it was quite some time before I found one (there are SO many great options but I just always have an issue with finding glasses suited with the shape of my face)!!
Before meeting with Dr. Pollack, I met with Sam who took images of my eyes and also went over my insurance plan to let me know what would be covered for a new pair of glasses. She was extremely helpful, friendly and welcoming also!
Dr. Pollack is a wonderful optometrist, felt very comfortable during my appt. She is thorough and takes the time to answer any questions you may have and actually takes the time to learn about her patients.
Great office with lovely people! Even with a 40min drive, certainly returning for my next Appt!
