About Dr. Rafael Guinot
Dr. Rafael Guinot was born in Ponce, Puerto Rico and attended El Colegio Ponceno, an exclusive private Catholic elementary and high school. He graduated at the top of his class and was committed to pursuing a career in medicine to fulfill his dream of helping those with medical needs. He began the pursuit of his medical career upon graduation from high school, and achieved the highest honors at every milestone.
Dr. Guinot initiated his college studies at the University of Puerto Rico and received his Bachelor of Science with honors. He then attended the Ponce School of Medicine where he graduated with the highest honors and was inducted into the prestigious Alpha Omega Alpha National Medical Honor Society, which includes only the top 5% of medical professionals in the United States.
Upon graduation from medical school, Dr. Guinot pursued his residency training in Obstetrics and Gynecology at the University of Miami/Jackson Memorial Hospital and Clinics in 1996. He received the award for outstanding resident in gynecologic endoscopy and was Chief Resident from 1999-2000. Upon completion of training, he was recruited to work by many national Obstetrics and Gynecology practices. He decided to join Dr. Hirsch and Dr. Vizoso at South Miami OB-GYN Associates because of their reputation, dedication and commitment to medical excellence.
He is board-certified and is currently a member of the American College of Obstetrics and Gynecology and of the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology. He also holds memberships in the American Medical Association, the Miami Ob-Gyn Society, and VitalMD. He has been selected to the Who’s Who of medical professionals and has also been nominated for the Best Doctors in America.

I was heavily disappointed in Dr Guinot despite reading positive reviews. The appointment time felt extremely rushed, despite my wait, and I felt like my concerns were actively dismissed. It is a vulnerable position seeing an OBGYN and I will definitely not be back and I would never recommend him to family/friends.

Overall it was a great experience. The office was very clean. The doctor and the staff were very nice, the front receptionist was not very friendly but professional. The only negative for me was the parking that I had to pay got the last spot. The doctor’s bedside manners made up for it and was all worth it.
