“This was my initial appointment with Dr. Berliner, and I'll be getting Botox injections for my migraines from him, so it remains to be seen how that goes, but I was so impressed by everything he did at this appointment that I thought he deserved a review now. He was very generous with his time, holistic in his questioning about my and my family's medical history, and when he realized that I was overdue for my last treatment (my former doctor no longer accepted my insurance and neglected to tell me enough in advance, so it took me a while to get an appointment with someone new) and that I'd been having a lot of headaches and was actually having one at the moment, he said he could give me a nerve blocker to tide me over until he got authorization for the Botox injection. I didn't know about nerve blockers, and had questions, all of which he answered, so I said yes, and it got rid of my headache (mostly--he said they work better for some people than others). He's a real mensch, 10 stars!”

About Dr. Randall Berliner
Dr. Berliner completed a dual residency program in neurology and psychiatry at Albert Einstein College of Medicine; where he then went on to complete a research fellowship in Geriatric Neuropsychiatry under the supervision of Dr. Richard Lipton. It was during that time that he developed his interest in headaches, one that he has pursued to this day. After working for several years in the prestigious Montefiore Headache Unit, he and his colleagues started a private practice in 1999 in order to deliver more personal care.
Dr. Berliner is an active member of the American Headache Society, and specializes in interventional approaches to Migraines and other headache disorders, including Botox, infusions, and other injections. He has published in this area including on Nerve Blocks and the role of the Sphenopalatine Ganglion in headache.
His other areas of interest include Vestibular Migraine (vertigo in migraine), anxiety and depression in headache disorders and Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation.
Dr. Berliner is Board Certified in Neurology, Psychiatry and Headache Medicine, and is a Fellow of the American Headache Society.
Dr. Berliner is on the faculty of the Albert Einstein College of Medicine.

If you suffer from migraines, Dr. Berliner is the doctor to see. He is a neurologist and has deep expertise in effectively treating the most difficult migraines. I have been seeing him for many years. He is very smart and caring and has a vast amount of knowledge of the newest and most cutting edge treatments. He cares greatly about his patients and takes a keen interest in helping you with many medical issues, by taking a great interest in the total health of his patients. He also works tirelessly to help you obtain insurance coverage for medications. Additionally, he is readily accessible to patients through an excellent portal.

My visits with Dr. B are always pleasant considering I come for nerve block injections that relieve my headache pains. Dr B is always attentive and concerned about my pain levels. He is kind, caring and extremely knowledgeable in his field. I am grateful that Dr B is my doctor and would highly recommend him to others in need of a neurologist.
