About Dr. Randy Mauffray
Dr. Randy Mauffray is a Board Certified Ophthalmologist who earned his Doctor of Medicine degree from the University of Mississippi School of Medicine. He completed his residency in Ophthalmology at Wilford Hall Medical Center through the US Air Force and then pursued a fellowship in Oculofacial Plastic and Orbital Surgery at the University of Michigan Kellogg Eye Center.
Dr. Mauffray is joining our practice after serving in the United States Air Force for over 24 years. During his military career, he served as the Director of the distinguished Center of Excellence for Medical Multimedia and as an Oculoplastic Surgeon at the USAF Academy.
Most recently, he was the Chairman of the Department of Ophthalmology at Wilford Hall Medical Center and also served as the Chief Ophthalmology Consultant to the US Air Force Surgeon General. In this role, he supervised the management of ophthalmology services for the Air Force Medical Service and oversaw the training of all Air Force ophthalmologists.
Throughout his career, Dr. Mauffray has been the Medical Director for Humanitarian and Civic Assistance at Wilford Hall, participating in over 15 humanitarian mission trips across Central and South America. He was also honored with the Resident Legacy Award in 2015.

Dr. Randy Mauffray was excellent !! No other way to describe him. He and his staff were friendly, personable snd very efficient with my time . They were understanding of me being over an hour laye for my appointment. The doctor explained to me the two possible procedure for my blepharmoplasty and
explained the cost of each.
I have a high degree of confidence in Dr. Mauffray.
I happy to have gotten such a qualified physician on only my second try from the internet.

While the office wait was a bit long, it was worth it because Dr. Mauffray was such a great doctor! I felt like he actually cared about me and I wasn’t just someone he was checking off his list for the day. He explained everything well and asked questions. I feel like that type of care is rare to find now a days. Already have my follow up appointment scheduled!

Overall my doctor appointment and associated office visit and other checks/staff procedures were excellent. The eye procedure I am having diagnosed is likely not covered by my insurance and this caused some extra time with a little confusion to get through even with with my understanding that coverage is not approved and I will pay for cost I commit to.

We arrived a little late because the confirmation text sent us to the wrong office, once Joe checked in, we waited in our car until office called. The appointment took a long time- I think over 2 hours, so that wasn't great. Dr Mauffrey is super. I think we'll try to see him at another location next time.
