While we specialize in children and adolescents, we also see a large number of adults experiencing anxiety, depression, and navigating divorce. Additionally, we support families dealing with divorce and blended family dynamics. I hold a PhD from Virginia Commonwealth University, which informs my approach to providing compassionate and effective care.

What should a new client know about working with you?

With children and adolescents, while we do spend some time with the child/adolescent, we mainly focus on helping the parents learn different ways to approach their child and manage their misbehavior or anxiety/depression. With adults, we offer solution-focused techniques.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

In first session for kids/adolescents, I like to see the child and parents first. This gives me a better picture of what the issues are. With adults, I start with adult first and later, if necessary, will pull other family members into the session if it will be necessary.
