The visit was great! I was able to fill out all my paper work online so everything was done before I arrived to the office. I met with both Dr. Mammo and her assistant they were both very knowledgeable, kind and patient. I needed that because I was anxious during examination. :)

One of the few doctors in New York honored with a humanitarian award, Dr. Mammo was inspired to do ophthalmology as second year Harvard medical school student while interning with World Health Organization fighting river blindness in West Africa. It is at that time she decided to devote her professional energy to prevent eye disease and restore eye sight, having witnessed the miracle of such work.
Dr. Mammo practices comprehenisive eye care with a specialized interest in refractive surgery that is superior in safety to LASIK, as well as cataract, glaucoma and oculoplastics including lid lift for excessively droopy lids, and cosmetic injections ie botox.
Dr. Mammo has also volunteered as cataract, glaucoma and lid surgeon in Kenya, India and Mexico. Your visit of this doctor goes to help long ways in continuing this young doctors mission work to restore vision in the third world with an upcoming trip scheduled to Ethiopia.
Dr. Mammo has conducted several research projects which were honored for academic presentations including at the American Academy of Ophthalmology, American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgery, the New York Academy of Medicine on variety of topics such as open angle glaucoma, pediatric eye disease, and infections of the eye.

Problems with billing, could not find the office (it's shared with other people who tried to push me into surgery that I did not want). Not great.

Initial visit for annual check in re: diabetes. Dr. Mammo and staff were courteous and well prepared with exception of my needing to provided ophthalmology hx again after having done so with ZocDoc. She was personable and I felt confident in the expertise and care for my wellbeing of her and support staff.

Dr. Mammo's is a great Ophthalmologist; however, her office is poorly managed. When I called to cancel an appointment and reschedule, left a voice message, no one called me back; yet, I got a bill for a missed appointment copay. I am sure my insurance was billed for a missed appointment. On another occasion, I had an appointment that was scheduled, it was cancelled by the office, no one called me. I went to the office to find it closed. Whenever I leave messages, no one calls me back. I never get a callback or reminder regarding appointments. Working with Dr Mammo's office is frustrating.

Dr. Mammo was very sweet and friendly. I have a soft spot for people who remember your name and refer to it constantly -- Dr. Mammo is that way. Also, I never felt rushed, which is a big deal for New York doctors. She answered all my questions thoroughly and gave very clear instructions.

I'm not sure what to think about my first visit with Dr. Mammo. It started with having to complete the check-in forms (medical history, insurance info, etc) even though I had completed them prior to the appointment online. The nurse was very nice. But the appointment room felt like a closet turned into temporary office. Dr. Mammo seemed nice.

Dr. Mammo was really great. Filled all my forms out on Zocdoc so there was no wait time at all. I was surprised! She was very informative. Made me feel very comfortable. She answered all my questions. I highly recommend Dr. Mammo. The office staff was good as we'll. Great experience.

Very good experience with Dr. Mammo. She has a great personality - very friendly and very professional. I like when doctors actually tell you what they're doing and why, and she did just that during my eye appointment. The office on 25th street is also a nice, pleasant place.
