About Dr. Reena Tharappel-Jacob
Dr. Tharappel-Jacob believes that open communication between physician and patient is essential to a long and mutually beneficial relationship. Focused, in-depth discussions enable a patient to make informed decisions impacting her health and wellness. Dr. Jacob’s goal is to facilitate this communication process and to provide the quality care her patients deserve.
Dr. Jacob’s special interests include general obstetrics and gynecology, management of menstrual dysfunction, health maintenance, and minimally invasive surgical techniques.
Dr. Jacob received a B.S. in Biology/Psychology at the University of Houston. Prior to receiving her medical degree from Ross University School of Medicine, she participated in medical research, which was eventually published. She completed her OB/GYN residency at Texas Tech University Health Science Center – El Paso. Dr. Jacob also received an award for excellence in laparoscopic surgery and best teaching resident award.

I only went for confirmation of pregnancy to set up an out of state abortion. I told the doctor I did NOT want the photos from the ultrasound and she printed them out and put them in a bag with “emergency prenatal vitamins, just in case I changed my mind”. It took forever to be seen and the nurses are so fresh they can’t even take blood pressure properly. There is one senior nurse there but she was not very hospitable to myself or the other extremely pregnant and uncomfortable patient in the waiting room. They blamed it on “people scheduling appointments online” I literally found them ONLINE and booked ONLINE so why some others have priority, I’m not sure but it made the whole experience just totally not worth my time or money. I wish to god I went somewhere else. I mean for the doctor to not even respect my wishes of no photos is just SICK! I thought going to a woman of color would make the experience a bit more comfortable… I thought wrong.

Dr. Jacob is awesome. This was my second time going to her and I think I’m ready to officially make her my doctor. Her bedside manner is impeccable! I was able to have all of my questions answered. I don’t know the ladies name in the front but she’s awesome as well. I give my overall experience a 10!

The wait was pretty long and one of the office staff was very rude. She gave a bad attitude to a few patients and would turn around and talk bad about the doctor. Very unprofessional.

Staff and Dr. Jacob were all very friendly. Ms. Sonia at the front desk informed everyone in the waiting area regarding wait times (due to technical difficulties from global IT outage a few days prior). I did not feel rushed through my appointment with Dr. Jacob and she took the time needed to answer all of my questions

When I went into the office I was hesitant to go in but I was already there and I made a good choice I Loved Dr Reena T Jacob, I was late 30 min to my appt by accident and she still saw me. I felt so comfortable telling her my concerns and she was a very good listener she explained everything very good and most important I got a very good vibe from her. She scheduled me to a mammogram and when I called to the mammogram office the lady told as well that she was a very good doctor and she really liked her too. I found my new Dr ??

By far the best experience I’ve had with any type of doctor. I originally booked due to quick availability although it was a little far for me. However, I had such a great experience and will continue to make the drive to see her from now on.

The wait to get seen was a little bit longer than expected but I didn’t mind in the end if it’s because she was giving her patients the best care possible instead of rushing them out the door. The doctor was extremely polite and attentive and took the time to listen to my concerns. This is what I was looking for when searching for a new doctor.

I was pretty anxious going into my appointment considering the fact that I haven’t had a women’s exam in several years. I didn’t know what to expect but I am so glad I chose to see Dr. Reena Tharappel-Jacob. She was very professional, kind, understanding, and gentle during my exam. Her bedside manner is fantastic and instantly put me at ease. She is knowledgeable and addressed all of my concerns. I would highly recommend this doctor.
