About Dr. Richard Jacobs

Dr. Jacobs grew up in the Tri-Cities, attending Christ the King School and Richland High School. He completed medical school at the University of Washington and followed with a family medicine residency in Spokane, Washington and sports medicine fellowship at the Toledo Hospital. It was in his residency that Dr. Jacobs recognized that he enjoyed caring for acute and emergent problems. In 2004, he furthered his education and changed career paths by accepting a fellowship in sports medicine. His orthopaedic interests are the entire spectrum of sports medicine, acute injuries and chronic conditions, pediatric and adolescent sports medicine/orthopaedics, sport related concussions, ultrasound guided injections and diagnosis, and arthritis care. Although he has attempted retirement two times; his passion for caring for patients has brought him back to Northwest Orthopaedic and Sports Medicine. Outside of the clinic, he enjoys sports, staying active with his wife, visiting his children and spending time with family.
