About Dr. Richard Levin

Dr. Richard K. Levin, O.D., earned his Doctor of Optometry from the Pennsylvania College of Optometry in 2003. After graduation, he specialized in medically and surgically treating glaucoma and cataracts at Mercy Medical Center. As an eye doctor, Dr. Levin specializes in offering comprehensive eye care, contact lenses, cataracts, and glaucoma. He has extensive experience fitting new lens implants, including the Alcon AcrySof PanOptix IOLs. He is also central to helping integrate optical services, primary care optometry, and general ophthalmology at Mercy Hospital. Pursuing his interest in providing care to the local community, he partnered with his father Dr. Howard Levin and opened two optical practices in 2006. Dr. Richard Levin’s belief lies in making empathy-driven human connections. “[compassion] is the secret sauce that seems so easy but gets lost in today’s busy world. This human interaction is what we are built on and is the very foundation of our family business.” Based upon this operating philosophy, Dr. Levin has expanded Levin Eyecare to 10 locations, which continue to offer high quality care to patients in Baltimore and the surrounding Maryland area
