About Dr. Robert Rego

Dr. Rego earned his BS in Biological Sciences from the University of California, Davis, followed by his Doctorate of Optometry degree from Nova Southeastern University. He completed his residency at Nova Southeastern University, focusing on low vision and geriatric care. After completing his residency, he remained at Nova Southeastern University teaching 3rd and 4th year students in the classroom and clinics as a Professor of Optometry. He also was a residency supervisor and trained the resident Optometrists in Primary Care, Ocular Disease and Low Vision. Throughout much of his career since teaching, Dr. Rego has primarily practiced in Ophthalmology clinics focusing on ocular disease, bringing a wealth of knowledge to his patients. Outside the examination room, Dr. Rego enjoys scuba diving, snorkeling, spending time outdoors, and traveling. Excited about the opportunity to serve the Lakewood Ranch, Venice, and Osprey communities
