About Dr. Robert Strugala
Dr. Strugala is board certified in sports medicine and specializes in sports medicine and musculoskeletal injuries. He treats injuries in elite athletes as well as weekend warriors and applies sports medicine principles to help injured workers return to their jobs safely. Dr. Strugala has a special interest in golf and running injuries and sports-related concussions.
He earned his Doctor of Medicine from Northwestern University and completed his residency in Internal Medicine at Northwestern Memorial Hospital. He further specialized with a residency in Sports Medicine at Hennepin County Medical Center.
Dr. Strugala is a member of the American Medical Society for Sports Medicine, the American College of Sports Medicine, the American Road Race Medical Society, and the Wilderness Medical Society. He has served as team physician for USA Triathlon and has traveled with Team USA to World Championship events in France and Italy. He has provided medical coverage for international rugby matches and has worked with the Chicago Marathon since 2001. Currently, Dr. Strugala is a team physician for the Chicago Lions Rugby Club and a sports medicine consultant for Brother Rice High School.

One of the first things I look for is the front office staff and how friendly they are. And if they Greet you, a very friendly front office. They had all my info ready to go!
The nurse who called me back was friendly too, and she did a great job with the check-in before the Doctor came in.
Dr. Strugala was nice, and I liked his bedside manner; he listened well and asked me a lot of questions. I felt so much better with the suggested diagnosis and on having a path to work on.

Everything was good. I had to wait for around 40 minutes, although there was only a couple of people and I checked in the office 10 minutes prior to my appointment time. This waiting time was too long and not expected, particularly whenever there is no crowd. The doctor is well behaved. It would be great to have a display monitor in the room so that the patient can also see the x-ray and MRI images from the room.

Dr. Strugala was great - he communicated well and had friendly, polite dialogue. All the office staff was mainly pleasant and friendly. Clean and normal office space. Very timely as well - showed up early and was brought back right at my appointment time.

Dr. Strugala is a compassionate orthopedic surgeon with the highest level of professional integrity. He always takes the time to carefully ask about my symptoms, patiently listen to my concerns, and perform the necessary examinations before making a professional diagnosis. He is also very patient in explaining my condition and answering my questions.
I first saw Dr. Strugala four years ago. With his care and guidance, the knee and spinal problems that I had struggled with for more than a decade are now very well managed. I have been able to return to my normal work and daily life.
I have recommended Dr. Strugala to several friends, and they have all been very satisfied with him, just as I have been.
