He not only assessed the instability in his ankle, but also metatarsal deformity, got an x-ray, referred us to an amazing orthotic shoe person, Hans, who referred us to another amazing service to adjust dad’s shoes. In addition, we had never heard of vitamin B as a way to regain feeling. Dad has bilateral neuropathy and he is now starting the vitamin treatment to help. I could not be more happy, and I am referring him to everyone.”

About Dr. Robert Toomey
Dr. Robert J. Toomey III is a Board Certified Podiatric Surgeon with advanced training from Samuel Merritt University, California School of Podiatric Medicine, where he earned his Doctor of Podiatric Medicine degree. He completed his residency in Podiatric Surgery at the highly competitive Diabetic Limb Salvage program of MedStar Washington Hospital Center and MedStar Georgetown University Hospital. Dr. Toomey is well versed and has consistently performed cutting-edge ankle and foot surgery. He frequently performs arthroscopic procedures on the ankle and foot and regularly employs bone marrow aspirate containing the patient’s own stem cells, as well as amniotic stem cell therapy, in both surgical and office settings.
Dr. Toomey has had several prestigious opportunities to perform surgery on professional athletes. Despite his professional and surgical accolades, he believes in an initial conservative approach and tailors treatment to each individual patient’s needs. He was class president of his medical school and was granted externships at Harvard and Georgetown. While in college, Dr. Toomey lettered in collegiate football and understands the demanding needs of high-level athletes.
He also has a passion for lecturing to the medical community. In his free time, Dr. Toomey enjoys spending time with his young son and being outdoors golfing, boating, or fishing on the Chesapeake. Dr. Toomey makes each individual patient feel like a priority, and it is his pleasure to treat all of your surgical or nonsurgical needs.

Best experience I’ve ever had with a provider. Efficient check in with staff, helpful nurse who took my X-rays quickly and attentive doctor who thoroughly explained my condition and treatment. Doctor Toomey was truly helpful with explaining all my options with care even though it’s clear the issue was something he treats several times a week.

I don't understand how come must things not covered any insure, they should be doing mostly people. They should ask them and what are some of the insure that is covered. Not everyone has the insure than others.

Doctor to me and all the staff were friendly and professional. I think the amount of paperwork at signin is excessive and relates to irrelevant topics sometimes. But my appointment proceeded at a reasonable pace, and doctor Toomey seemed very thorough and asked me my foot history and view on things as we went along. Yes, I would recommend this Podiatry service to anyone.

The wait time was over an hour, which had me a little frustrated. I went to Dr. Toomey because I had ingrown toenails causing me pain, and he had one of the soonest appointments with the highest reviews, and I see why his reviews are so good.
The doctor explained how & why it was happening, took some samples while fixing the nails, and recommended a few things. Because of the samples being tested, I will go back in a couple of weeks to follow up on those. I am very happy with his bedside manner - he explained ways that the issues can be treated, and how he approaches it usually, and that he's not one to take the most drastic action first, which I really appreciate.
