Professional Achievements and Associations: Clinical Field Manager; Member of the Virginia Optometric Association and American Optometric Association. The reason I became an optometrist is: I was always interested in medicine as I come from a family involved in all aspects of the medical field. When I was in college, I originally planned on going into research but realized I enjoyed the personal aspect of patient care. Optometry combines my interest in science and vision with the enjoyment of helping new people every day. My favorite part of helping my patients is: My favorite part of the patient experience is sharing my knowledge of how the eye allows us to see the world around us. In my spare time, I enjoy: In my spare time I enjoy watching live music, going hiking and camping, and spending time with my family.
