Getting to know Dr. Ron Gellis

I am a Christian Clinical, Forensic, and Sports Neuropsychologist with a PhD in Clinical Psychology from the Florida Institute of Technology. Like many who enter the mental health field, I have faced my own mental health challenges. My family of origin struggled with addiction and mental health issues. I currently have 38 years of sobriety and am intimately familiar with 12 Step, Christ-centered, and Mindfulness approaches to recovery. I specialize in the treatment of Trauma and Addiction, focusing on family systems and attachment orientation. As a trained child psychologist, I place particular emphasis on the developmental aspects of trauma. My experience as a former Navy psychologist, working extensively with veterans and first responders, has given me a deep understanding of those cultures. Outside of my professional work, I played college soccer, have run 20 marathons, taught scuba, and am an award-winning underwater photographer. I also competed at the CrossFit World Games for three years. I am married, have a son who is a retired Navy servicemember, and a daughter in heaven.

What should a new client know about working with you?

Clients can expect years of clinical experience as well as transparency. I believe the most important aspect of treatment is the healing relationship between the therapist and the client. I know the commitment it takes to heal both personally and professionally.

More information on payments and coverage

Payment is due after each session and will be charged with your card on file for any portion of patient responsibility. Receipts will be provided at the time of the charge. This typically takes place 2-4 weeks after the session, once your insurance has had a chance to process the claim. We try our best to verify eligibility, but it is ultimately your responsibility to check coverage and out-of-pocket costs for services. For out-of-network visits, you will be billed at the provider’s self-pay rate, and we can provide an invoice for you to submit to your insurance for potential out-of-network reimbursement based on your plan’s benefits.
