About Dr. Roxanne Jamshidi
Roxanne Jamshidi, M.D., MPH, is board-certified in Obstretrics & Gynecology. She is an Associate Professor of Obstetrics & Gynecology at the George Washington University School of Medicine & Health Sciences and the Director of the Division of General Obstetrics & Gynecology. She completed her medical degree from Vanderbilt University in Nashville Tennessee, followed by her residency in obstetrics & gynecology from Women and Infants Hospital at the Brown University School of Medicine in Providence Rhode Island. Dr. Jamshidi went on to complete a masters in public health from Johns Hopkins University Bloomberg School of Public Health while completing a fellowship in Family Planning from the Johns Hopkins University as well.
Dr. Jamshidi is dedicated to providing thorough and personal care for her patients. She provides guidance and encourages active patient participation in treatment decisions. She has received advanced training in family planning and maintains a general OB/GYN practice. In addition to her busy clinical practice, Dr. Jamshidi is committed to furthering the knowledge and understanding of family planning through education and research. She oversees and supports clinical research related to family planning and contraception.

I went to Dr. Jamshidi for the first time after moving to the area and was interested in a long term, effective birth control method. I was able to discuss my options with her and get a hormonal IUD the same day and the procedure took just about 3 minutes. Very professional and made me feel comfortable and safe right away. Everyone in the office was welcoming and kind.

Dr. Jamshidi is such an excellent physician. Her ability to gauge her patient's medical understanding and communicate the process accordingly is unparalleled. She has helped me through some incredibly scary situations and has been more than comforting the entire time.
