About Dr. Rupesh Bhakta
Dr. Bhakta, a southeast Georgia native, completed his undergraduate studies at UGA in 2005. In 2009, Dr. Bhakta graduated, with honors, from the UAB School of Optometry in Birmingham, Alabama. Upon graduating, Dr. Bhakta completed a one-year residency program in refractive surgery and ocular disease at Woolfson Eye Institute in Atlanta, GA. The residency program allowed Dr. Bhakta to further strengthen his clinical skills in the diagnosis, treatment and management of ocular diseases, such as, dry eye syndrome, cataracts, glaucoma, diabetic retinopathy, macular degeneration, amongst other eye conditions. In addition, Dr. Bhakta received extensive training in pre-operative and post-operative care for cataract and LASIK patients. He joined Hamilton Mill Eye Care in 2010 and fell in love with the community. Dr. Bhakta enjoys the ability to build long-lasting relationships with his patients by providing a service that enhances their lives.
Dr. Bhakta is a current member of the Georgia Optometric Association and the American Optometric Association. He resides in Johns Creek with his wife and three children. In his free time, Dr. Bhakta enjoys spending time with his family and friends, cheering on the Dawgs, and traveling. Dr. Bhakta is committed to providing professional eye care to the community in a caring and compassionate manner.
